Help on the NG

S

I just thought to comment on the help received over the years..............

It astounds me not only the help that is given but the speed that most of
the help comes in, sometimes only minutes for a solution.

Some of you guys must have studied for years or have photographic memories.

Some of the replies make sense to me others I just copy / paste whatever you
advise. I have tried to read up on the subject but the brain can`t cope.
Too old, lack of retention whatever.

I have to date (in my opinion) some clever little programmes that I and
others use. I take a lot of credit for them to the point they think I am
clever (if only they knew) but the reality is none of this would happen if
it were not for you guys on this NG.

I sometimes feel guilty having previously asked for the same advice maybe
from a year ago, but I just can`t remember how it was done, and still you
come back with the answers.

SO I would just like to say a big THANK YOU to all that reply with solutions
to our problems.

It is very much appreciated.

Thanks

Here's a tip that anyone can use that saves tons of time...

Keep a "Library" of samples close at hand!

I have 100's of sample files that contain 1000's of formulas and code
snippets.

If you need a really complex formula instead of starting from scratch, you
just look it up in your library. You'll already have the basic formula
written so it just needs minor tweaks for the current application.

I'm not sure if I've helped you over the years, but your comments are very
much appreciated - thank you for taking the trouble to feed back in this
way.

I ditto that. I'm embarrassed sometimes to ask for help, because I
think I should be able to figure it out for myself--and I do try.
Only when I'm absolutely stumped do I seek help--and it is always
forthcoming...and for that I am very grateful.
