For some reason my computer keeps on assigning its own ip
address, and i cant get it back to were it work. I have a
router and usually it assigns the proper ip address but
now even when i manualy config it still does not work. I
reformated the drive and that didny help.

If you're getting an APIPA (169.x.x.x) it means your computer is unable to
contact the DHCP server. Check cables, try a different NIC, etc.

What I had to do when my two computers did this was to upgrade the firmware
on my Lynksys Router and then it was able to use DHCP. This is just what
helped me. It might not work for you!
