HELP! No support from UBCD for Western Digital

J

Jeff

I downloaded UBCD, burned the ISO to CD and it booted right up. The problem
is I am using two 20.5 GB Hard Drive's, one Western Digital Protoge and one
Quantom Fireball. UBCD (Full Version) doesnt have utilities for either of
these brands. So for me its not much good. No CD support from either
Manufacturers website either. Does anyone know of a FREE HD Utility for
Formatting and partioning Western Digital Hard Drives? Thanks in advance.

Western Digital hard drives are nothing special. Any of the freeware
partition programs will work.

Yea, I know they are nothing special but every Freeware partitioning program
I have found is proprietary. I have tried a few different programs and so
far no luck.

Hi,

How about Ranish Partition Manager? I think that is included with the UBCD.

Regards.

Okay, I'll try again with something different. Look at this website
and see if it'll work. http://www.bootdisk.com/ Alternatively, if you
are installing a Windows system you should have all the support you
need during installation.

Yes, it became clear there was another problem after I ran MadBoot and
attempted a manual installation. Something I should have checked first when
none of the other partitioning programs worked, the BIOS. HDD recognition
problem. Thanks to all, at least now I have some decent tools for booting
and partitoning.
