Help!! New memory not working with old

Hi

Purchased new Kingston Value Ram PC2700 1Gb chip, this works fine on
its own no problems at all.

And my old memory Samsun PC2700 two lumps 512 and 256, they also work
fine no problems.

However when used together in any combination the system will only see
the old chips, i have played with the bios with no effect.

Please could someone point me in the right direction because i'm
confused.

Part numbers i think

Kingston 1G = KVR333D8R25/1G
Samsung 512MB = M368L6423ETN-CB3
Samsung 256MB = M368L3223DTM-CB3

I'm guessing its because your Kingston is ECC registered but your
Samsungs are Non-ECC?
