Hi all,

Our network was migrated and they've changed the netwrok drive that my
Access Database front and back ends were in. I was able to change the target
on the front end to the new network drive but it still won't open because it
is still looking for the backend on the old drive and it is not there
anymore. How can I link the front to the new location of the back-end??

I can't open my database to get to the Linked Table Manager. Every time I
try to open it I get an error message that it cannot find the path where the
backend resides. Then Access opens but no database window.

Can you open the database as a developer using the shift key or can you
simply select window - unhide and select the database window.

When I link my backend tables I do not use the network drive letter. I do
the following \\servername\directory\tree\xxx_be.mdb when I click linked
table mgr and select all tables instead of click to the path I just put this
in. Now it does not care what drive letter you us it just looks for the
server name.

I don't understand how you can type in your server name. Windows does not
allow me to type it in and I can't locate it in 'My Network Places' in Wndows
Explorer.

Never mind. I did find it in Wondows Explorer. Now I'll never lose it again!

Thank you!!

Whenb you go to "Linked Table Mgr" and select your tables and prompt for new
location the next screen will give you a window to navagate to your file.

on the line "File Name" put in the full path on that line and if you typed
it correctly you can hit "Open" and it will do its thing.

this will work for any Mapped drive on your computer it does not make any
difference what drive letter it is.
