I have an Access 2000 Database in a folder on a server that was accessed
through a VPN connection. I can see the Network drive on my computer listed
as U:
I have been accessing the database for about a year without problems,
although the database has been slow as compared to when it was on my desktop
directly. Another person has been accessing the same database on the server
in the same way. The database corrupted last week, so I created a new
database and split it into a front-end (with queries, forms, reports) linked to
tables in a backend,
I placed the backend in the Folder on the Server. I placed the Front-end in
a folder on the Office PC and a shortcut to the front-end on the desktop. The
connection seems to work slower that when I was directly connecting to the
database on the server. Should the Front-End also be on the server?
