Not many will but linmewire / kazaa virus cities in disguise

much thx man but u dont know any other programs im only goin to use it
for specific downloads tho so there is little or no risk of d/lin
viruses i use limewire on my laptop an desktop all the time for about 2
yrs with gettin ne viruses

In order for most of these programs to work, your computer has to be
accessible from the internet. In order for your computer to be
accessible from the internet if you're behind a router, the router has
to be set to forward the necessary ports to your computer.

Nothing you can do to the programs can make the router forward
anything to you. You have to find a peer-to-peer program that doesn't
require you to have accessible ports.

Does that really mean, "behind a NAT router"? If so, try Shareazaa:

It is a Open Source ad-free gnutella, gnutella-2, edonkey, BT client that
works well-enough for me behind a hardware router without diddling with port
forwarding. I get the infamous "low-id" warnings and, probably, the accompanying
low d/l speeds from edonkey but it still works.
Avoid Shareazalite and SareazaPro: They are straight rips designed to dupe
the ignorant
