Help needed

My hubby has a computer that he would like to erase the
hard drive on but it wont let him because of a partition.
How would he go about either getting rid of the partition
or reformatting around the partition. Sorry I hope this
makes sense, I am just learning myslef.
 
Do you have a Windows XP install disk? The disk is bootable and you can
format and install from there. Set your system BIOS to boot from the CD
drive. Stick the disk in the disk drive and reboot. Follow the prompts
from there. You can also do a Google search for "formatting disk drives" or
a Windows Help and Support search.
