Help needed with page loading please

When I'm loading a web site in Internet Explorer 6 with Windows XP, it loads
a quarter of the page, then takes from 20 to 30 seconds to load the rest of
the page.
This does not happen in Netscape (im on high speed cable)
Example

http://www.canoe.com/Canoe/home.html (Takes 19 seconds to open in Internet
Explorer 6) and only about 2 second or less in Netscape

What could have happened?

Rule out spyware that may be calling home while you are waiting.

I also need the same help, VERRRRRRY slow loading pages,

about half the speed of netscape ISP is dial up compuserve.
Windows ME anything I do with IE is about 1/5 the speed as
using compuserve.

is there a virus scanning program running on your pc as
well? try disabling it and check explorer again. i had
the same problem but this is a way round it. don't know
why it happens though.
