help needed w/file extensions

I can't get .mp3 files from the internet to save on my
computer as .mp3 files. They always register as .mpeg
files. Does anyone know how to fix this?

Under
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\MIME\Database\Content Type\audio/mp3
and/or
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\MIME\Database\Content Type\audio/mpeg
, some 3rd party software changed the value "Extension" from ".mp3" to
".mpeg". Either change it back yourself or go to WMP's Tools:Options:File
Types and associate things there back to WMP, and WMP will fix this for you.
