HELP! Monitor

Can someone please help.

My new computer is currently on Windows XP. The CPU case is on with the
lights flashing although there is no response on the monitor. The
monitor is indicated as on but there is no display. There is also no
response from the keyboard. Can you help?

Do you have them plugged in properly?
