Hi Jerold,
This Kernal Exception is most likly being caused by a hardware driver.
To determine which driver, the fastest way is to locate an XP or Windows
2003 machine and copy the
utility called "MSconfig.exe". In XP it is found at this location:
C:\Windows\PChealth\Helpctr\Bineries.
Action Plan
*********
1. Copy "MSconfig.exe" to your desktop from an XP baseed system.
2. If possible in "normal mode" launch MSconfig.exe (if not launch from
"safe mode".
3. Goto the last tab at the top "Startup". Select "Disable all".
4. Next goto the tab beside called "services", at the bottom select "hide
all Microsoft services".
5. select "apply" then "ok". This will prompt you to reboot. select "yes"
6. login in "normal mode"
7. if this is successful, you may go back to "MSconfig" and start bringing
the "services" back one at a time
until the issue happens again. This will give you the root cause to the
issue, and allow you to remove or update the
offending driver.
The whole key is to get you back to normal boot, and this process in "safe
mode", will get you to this point.
