Help me out here..please?

I downloaded Microsoft office 2003 as a trial program. Recently, I
attempted to update this program before my trial time expired. It will
not update...and says it is unable to update this program with the
little ditty that asks you if it's okay to install the (X) program. I
said yes...it still won't update and failed to install the updates.

My question is, why do I want a program that gives me headaches on
updates? Or better yet, why do businesses use this program that has so
much trouble updating programs easily?

I have very little time before I send Microsoft some money. Please, I
need honest input...without complications!
Thank you!

I've never used the trial, I have the retail version and, so far, its not
given any problems.
Perhaps the trial version doesnt allow for updates?

If you are serious about getting Office 2003 then you will do yourself
justice by buying it from Amazon or other retail stores. You get CDs
with the box while with MS you only get updated serial number and you
also need to pay extra for media e.g. CDs.

You might qualify for Students and Teachers version and this will save
you a lot!

The updating is not a problem when you have properly licensed product.

We update near 2000 seats of Office 2003 without any problem, it has
never been any problem for us, and it's painless. Even my mother, mother
inlaw, wife, kids, and myself have no trouble getting updates.

You don't send MS money, you purchase it through a reseller, and you can
save money if you get an OEM or EDU version.
