Help me! My Desktop and start button are gone!

One day when I turned on my computer my desktop was completly gone. The
picture that was on my desktop is still there but the icons and start button
are gone. To open a program I have to got to the task manager and open it. I
wanted to uninstall some of the programs to see if that would help but I
don't even know how to get to the control panel. Its driving me crazy. Please
help me.

Or System Restore can be run using Task Manager.

Type Ctrl+Alt+Del to launch Task Manager.
Click File - New Task (Run...) and enter the following command then click OK.

To just get your taskbar and icons back, open task manager, select
file>run then type without quotes "explorer.exe"
