Anyone have any ideas on how to repair this error....
~Non-System Disk ~

My bf, trucker by trade, thinks that he is computer
technician and he knows all about computers... NOT

The pc freezes at the user login screen. Unable to type
in password to login.
On top of that he can't remember the password he created
for the system administrator...

He was apparently in System Mechanics and Norton System
Works, deleting duplicate files. I have no idea which
files he has deleted or how I can get them back. But
obviously they were important files.

any helpful hints would be awesome ...

Is there a disk in the floppy drive? This *used* to me the message in
earlier O/s when that took place when booting up.

I think it would be complete guess work, for us to figure
out, what he did.
I think the best thing to do is a clean install.
Sorry to give the bad news, I assume you have an install
cd for XP, one thing if you decide to do this, do not
connect to the internet, without a firewall, until your
system is fully patched/updated, a non firewalled system
connecting to the net can become infected within 10 minutes
not even visiting a web site.
