Help me burn to DVD.

I have created several videos using windows movie maker and want to burn them to DVD but apparently the format is not compatable with Roxio or any of the other programs I have tried. What do I need to do to get this thing on a DVD.
 
when your saving the ile in windows movie maker save it as an avi file.It will use up a lot of space but roxio should be able to convert it
