HELP! Loads of trouble with HP Officejet 6110

I need help!

I bought an HP Officejet 6110 to use with my iMac (OS X 10.2.8) a few months
ago and it has been nothing but trouble.

I'll try to print pages off a Pagemaker project, but often all I get is just
about 1/4 inch of printed material before the HP spits it out and does the
exact same thing on page after page. Some of the time, the material that is
printed is just a few lines of random text symbols.

Other times, I will get it to print correctly (usually after restarting my
Mac), but the project will shut down after just a few completed pages.

After this problem, I get a reading on the computer citing "system error 100."
What is system error 100? I tried scanning through the HP site, but couldn't
find any reference to a system error 100.

Does any of this sound familiar? What can I do to rectify these problems?

HELP!

thanks...

Jerry

I had tons of problems getting a 6110 working with a newer Dell XP machine
and still can't get the bundled software to load for it. I can just imagine
how it must be getting one to work with a Mac.

There's probably better choices out there other than the 6110 that work well
with Macs. You might try asking in the Mac groups what works best.

I did do some more research, and figured out that I was looking at this from
the wrong direction. There is no problem with a 6110 HP and iMac....the
problem is that the PageMaker 6.5 is conflicting with the Mac OS X. THEY don't
get along. That's why the page wouldn't print.

I've hooked up the HP to an iMac still running 9.2 and it's printing fine.
