Help Linking Tables In Access97

M

Mark Saunders

I've been asked to modify an Access97 application
developed two years ago and no one is around that knows
anything about it.

The application has a Paradox DB and an Access97 DB. A
third DB(Access97) ties the two together by linking
tables. I need to link additional tables but get the
following message when I attmpt the link: "The Microsoft
Jet database engine could not find the
object 'C:\Respond\PETsMART.DB'. Make sure the object
exists and that you have spell its name and the path name
correctly."

C:\Respond\PETsMART.DB does not exist. The application
runs fine, but when I try to link a table to it, I get
this message.

I open the third database (the one that has the lines to
the other two DBs), go to File, Get External Data, Link
Tables, and navigate to the Paradox DB and select it
(double click or Link button).

This is where I get the message.

Afraid I don't know anything about Paradox. Is it possible that the Paradox
database is linked to C:\Respond\PETsMART.DB?

Initially I thought that might be the case, but a check of
the Paradox databse shows no links.

This is only a problem with the Paradox DB. I can link to
other Access DB, and Oracle DB just fine.
