Help!!! Infinite loop with Read Receipt

R

Roberto Pirini

We have an exchange server 2005 with many outlook clients. Since 2
days one account send to another account a lot of read receipts of the
same mail and it never stop! I tried to stop manually the read receipt
from the sender following instructions from www.outlook-tips.net/howto/delete_rr.htm,
but I always get a "MAPI_E_CORRUPT_STORE" error. Please help me!!!!

There is no such thing as Exchange server 2005.

The error you get suggest you've got issues with your Exchange server. It is
no use starting the troubleshooting process from the Outlook client. Start
with shutting down the send permissions on the mailbox to stop the endless
mail stream and look at the log files on the Exchange server for the next
clue.

For further assistance continue in an Exchange newsgroup.

the log files?

Any errors reported by Exchange.

Getting returned "MAPI_E_CORRUPT_STORE" is not a good sign.

Yeah!! I got the solution! I deleted the file outlook.ost from the
client and everything turned ok. Probably this file was corrupted.

Good to hear! You might want to dig a little deeper in trying to find out
what caused the corruption in the first place. Infinite loops can do a lot
of harm to your infrastructure and is worth investigating.

The problem began after a sudden shutdown due a loss of electric power
on the pc with the problem...
