HELP - IE 6.0 will not connect to any website

Hi, I connect to the internet through aol broadband, but when I click on my
IE icon it will not connect to any website. I get the arrow with the hour
glass indicating that its tried to got to the website, but instead it remains
like that indefinitely (basically freezing all other functions, except for
movement of mouse cursor.) When I do ctr-alt-del, it freezes my computer
completely and I must do a "hard" shut-down to reboot. I am running Win98se.
Can any one please advise how or what I should do to fix this problem.
Thanks, J.

It sounds like a connection issue and not an issue with Internet Explorer I
have heard a lot of bad things about AOL. Do they have free tech support?
Have you considered trying a different ISP? You may also try this. Download
Mozilla Firefox Browser and if you cant connect all. With that then you can
narrow the problem down to a problem with Internet Explorer

Hi Jamstar, it occurred to me you may not be able to download Mozilla Firefox
browser if you cant connect. Here's my negative experience with AOL. My mom
wanted to go through AOL and I wanted to use Earthlink. So she calls AOL to
set everything up and we could not get connected. So she concededs and we
call Earthlink and she is a total newbie and they led her through things step
by stepwithin 10 minutes we were up and connected and on the web. They also
have 24 hour tech support which is very good. My advice is cancel AOL. Let me
know if this is helpful.
Best Regards,
Kaja
