I cannot remember what exactly I was doing at the time as I was multi

to right click and show my desktop and icons as I generally keep them
hidden. To do anything I have to use my windows task manager by hitting
Ctrl,Alt+Del.Trying to change settings in appearace and themes and clicking
on Taskbar and Start menu does nothing as it wont even open.I have scanned
and rescanned with a few anti virus programs and nothing has shown up.All
spyware and adware are deleted also.I tried re-installing windows xp pro
overtop but it will not let me because it cannot find a file in xp SP2.
Can you please help me before I go bizerk.
Your help would be greatly appreciated.

You can downlown the individual fixes marked in blue or the complete taskbar
repair tool (free version) at this link.

Try this:

Move your mouse cursor down to the very bottom of your screen and se
if you get the double-ended arrow cursor. If you do, that shows tha
you simply dragged your taskbar down so that it is out of view. Yo
should notice a thin line (blue if using windows XP default settings
at the bottom of your screen.

Now, click and drag the taskbar up, and you should see it.

It is also possible that you dragged your taskbar to the right, left
or top edge of your screen. use your mouse cursor to search th
edges

To avoid a recurrence, select "Lock the Taskbar." you will still b
able to autohide, if you desire.
