Hello everyone,
hope you can help me, my system kept freezing and I had to reboot alot, then it would stop on the "check disc for error screen, after rebooting a few more times it went blank. My system came with WinXP already loaded, I just needed to start, so I did not get a seprate disc for it. I used a reboot floppy my husband made some time ago:( , win98 showed up??? only the logo screen though; In looking through the manual I realized they only provided info for Win98, ME and NT but I had XP loaded??? Anyway now my computer is in safe mode(someone tried helping). I tried using my" Recovery CDs" and "Advanced Recovery Diagnostic Tools" CD which came with my computer but now it seems that the drives have been wiped off and the CDs are not being read. If I try to use the E: drive it says not recognized. I downloaded the rebooting discs for XP and tried those also, nothing is helping and I'm stuck in Dos mode. I typed" windows\system32\setup" but it said this cannot be done in Dos mode.??????!!!!!! What can I do next.....please HELP

Read the User's Guide that came with your PC and study
the section devoted to the proper usage of the Recovery CDs
that came with your computer. Otherwise, you'll have to
contact the support department of the manufacturer of your
computer for assistance.

Use your recovery CD, you may have to use the reformat
and install option (contact the manufacturer if you don't
know how to use the recovery CD).
Then when everything is loaded, you can that get out your
backup disks of your personal files and load them back on
and start all over again.
