I use a windows xp system and I wanted to install a linux system as well.
But after I installed Fedora Core 2, windows cannot be booted normally. Then
I deleted the linux partition under windows using PQMagic, and, after
reboot, the system automatically enters GRUB interface ('grub>') without
windows startup. I've tried booting from a WinXP CD and 'fixboot c:', but
this has had no effect on the situation. Could anybody help me????

To remove GRUB, you need to run "fdisk /mbr". This is the
undocumented switch for fdisk and it will fix your
problem.

You should ask in a Linux Newsgroup or on the Fedora Core Mail list at

This assumes you have a Win9X boot floppy. If not, and
you indicate you tried "fixboot" so I will ass-u-me you
have booted to the recovery console, try "fixmbr".

Yes, in Windows XP, too.

Ok, let me re-phrase that - no, there is no FDISK in XP but from a Win98
boot disk FDISK it will work to rewrite the MBR.
