Help! How do I restore a file?

I accidentally saved a new file with the same name as an existing one, and
clicked 'override', forgetting they were in the same location. How do I
restore the original file that I accidentally overrode? Thank you!

Anyway, you have to restore the previous version from a backup you
made previously. The exact procedure will be documented in the help
file for your backup software.

Oh, thank you, Tom. I didn't realize this was in the wrong spot; I have never
used these boards before.

You don't. It asked you if you wanted to overwrite the file (not override);
you said, yes, overwrite it; it did what you asked and permanently destroyed
the old file. It's gone.

If you have a backup, you can use it; if not... good luck, hope you can
recreate the file!
