HELP! HELP! STOP THE D/L

For 2 days that Windows update globe appears in my active
task bar and says downloading updates... It is now at 39%
(I am on dial up) and at no time did I ask for any
updates. I checked my settings and they are still at "ask
before d/l".... I looked at the add/remove and there are
2 items for SP2..Q331060 & Q814995... How can I stop this
d/l??? Please!!!!

looks like an automatic update, which I feel is SP2,
which at no time did I agree to allow this update... I do
not understand how to stop the d/l.. It is now at 41%.
Where is "end task"? again, thanks...

Hit ctrl, alt, del then the task manager will popup. You can end it there.

Thank you Thank You, you have relieved my anxieties.. but
duh! how did I not know the ctrl alt thingy?? Just too
upset... again, thanks to those of you trying to help
