Funny thing. I've posted my problem twice over the past month but I haven't
seen any replies. I check every day. I must be doing something wrong. So
here goes again.

I'm using Windows XP Pro and I have all updates (done automatically)
including SP1 & SP 2. When I get a message which has an image (not attached)
it gets stopped due to something in SP2 - intended as securirty against
imbedded virus. All I get is a little ssquare box with a red X in it. When I
go to Tools>Options>Security there is an item "Do not allow attachments to
be saved or openend...." - I uncheck this item eventhough it refers to
'attachments' instead of images. There is no item below that referring to
images.

I've hunted high and low through OE web sites and the only thing concerning
this problem is a referrence to 843018 which was a 'patch' to add the extra
line in that security tab to block images. There is a Guided Help Tool which
installs it step-by-step. Then when I get a message which has an image it
will (or not, depending if I have that item checked) block it but adds a bar
at the top of the message stating it has been blocked but if I trust the
site I can click on that bar and the image will appear.

All fine and dandy, except it is not permanent. When I exit OE and come back
that nice fix is gone.

CAN ANYONE OUT THERE TELL ME HOW TO CORRECT THIS PROBLEM? I WANT TO BE ABLE
TO HAVE THE OPTION OF BLOCKING OR VIEWING IMAGES.

p.s. Could you please answer direct as well as to the group (someone else
might have the same problem).

Hi Paul,

Click Tools > Options > Security
Dot Internet Zone
Check Warn me when other applications try to send mail as me.
Click Apply then click OK.

Everything else leave blank.

Now do you have McAfee Privacy Service program installed or a similar
program that blocks ADS?
I'm using Windows XP Pro and I have all updates (done automatically)

Not good enough. There are optional Updates which effects Outlook
Express operational functions, which are available, if you go to Windows
Update and click Custom, not Express, which after searching or scanning then
can be downloaded and automatically installed. And don't forget Microsoft
..NET Framework 2.0.

Have you seen how many of the "no images" letters there are posted? Something
wierd is going on . As near as I can figure either Norton or Microsoft IE has
download an update that has corupted our programs, so that we cannot see
these images no matter what we disable or change. I cannot see my own web
site images unless I go to someone elses computer.
