Good Sunday Everyone

Somehow I have changed something as usual or did something wrong. My home
page under IE6 under Internet Options where you set your Home Page is Grayed
Out and cannot be changed to anything...for you simply can no longer type in
that section???
Any Help will be greatly appreciated In Advance.
Thanks!

Try using System restore to the most recent date you knew where you could access that in IE.

Hi Gene,

Using WinXP Pro?

Start/run gpedit.msc, expand user config/admin templates/windows
components/IE, there is an option here to enable/disable changing the home
page.

Actually, it sounds to me like Gene might have some spyware/browser
hijacking problems. He should clean up his computer first, using Spybot
S&D and/or Ad-aware. Then of course it would be good to disable
changing the home page for the future (if he has Pro).

Cheers,

I have tried everything here so far too no avail, I am stuck with the
Yahoo page which I don't want. I have run everything, all the
suggestions listed in these first few recommendations but I am still
"greyed out". I totally sympathise with the first poster.

What next folks, are we both to be condemned to a "Yahoo" of a life?
However, thanks to all who have tried to help so far. I fear its that
wretched 2C.lop bug. I have run all the "Spys" and the "Ferrets" but the
first still freezes at the 2C.lop and the second says its gone. I have
also tried Lavasoft's programme which also says I am clear, I am not
clear and whatever it is has my IE6 home page tied up.

Have you tried the Home Page Unlock from
http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks2.htm#sec Under security tweaks.
Both lock and unlock worked for me.

Gene.

I have solved the problem with Start Page Guard which you can find at
http://www.mercury.org.uk/dnlds6.htm

When you find it listed, just install in, (free), and follow the
instructions. It sets your home page but in doing so unlocks your
present unwanted home page.

Fabulous, please let me and others here how you got on.

Kind regards,
