Help - Getting Visual C++ Runtime Error

I had to do some cleanup of .Net to fix an .Net update install issue from
windows update. After doing so I am now getting a Microsoft Visual C++
Runtime Error when running Synctoy 1.4. I've tried uninstalling and
re-installing Synctoy 1.4 with no success. I also uninstalled and
re-installed IE 7 hoping that might help to no avail.

Help (please)

Maybe doing a system restore to a
time before you did the cleanup would
be somewhere to begin.

John that thought came to mind but the process that got me into this spot was
windows update failures with the .net 2.0 upgrades. Thus I did the dotnetfix
to correct it and now have this issue. I'd rather have the .net security
updates in place and live with this error than be exposed to .net security
holes.

I'm only having this problem on the MS Synctoy 1.4 right now so I can live
with it but at some point I'm sure there will be something that will bite me.
