Help formating

I have cells which can accpet percentages and currency values
my questions is

when i enter a value <1 i want the cell to format as % if the value is

1 then i want it to be currency.

can some one help me out i cant do this using condityional formating.
any one have ideas ???

Use a custom format instead:

Format/Cell/Number/Custom [<1]0.00%;$#,##0.00

You don't say what should happen if the value is =1. I assumed currency
format.
