HELP! First word erasing? How do I change it?

When I go back into a document, it is erasing each additional word and I have
to retype the whole paragraph. I know this is some simple button somewhere,
but I have no idea where and have way too much work to do. Any suggestions?
 
Dennis, this group is discussing Microsoft Access the database. Since your
question is about a document, the people on the Word group could probably
give you better help.

I'm not sure if your issue is that Word is in Overtype mode (showing OVR in
the status bar.) If so, you can change back to Insert mode by pressing the
Insert key, or by double-clicking the OVR in the status bar.
