Hello I really need to find a version of PowerPoint that I can use for
Windows XP online! When I try to find one it is usually just a PowerPoint
viewer, and I need an actual PowerPoint program by Microsoft that lets me
edit PowerPoints because I need it for a project at school! Help would be
greatly appreciated!

You have two options: Buy it, or download the free Open Office at
www.openoffice.org which will allow you to edit PowerPoint presentations.

Can presentations created in OpenOffice be subsequently edited and run in
Powerpoint?

The only version that you can download legally (and please don't expect
illegal URLs in a Microsoft newsgroup) and for free, is the trial version of
Office and PowerPoint 2007 - that would give you 60 days to work with, until
you have to buy a full version. But it is very different from PowerPoint
2002/XP/2003 - so it might be different from what you learn in school. If
you decide to buy it, you can purchase the Home version for appr. 150 USD.

Best regards,
Ute

Yes - they can be saved with a ppt extension......

Since you are at school, you may be eligible for a lower priced edition of
Microsoft Office that includes PowerPoint.
