help files: unsupported language

Suddenly, none of the .hlp files on my system will open.

The error I'm getting is:

help file was created for a language not
supported by your version of windows

Has anyone encountered this? I tried to do a system
restore, but that didn't help anything. Is there a fix
for this?

Tx but this is not it -- the problem is with *all*
applications that use the old .hlp tyle help files --
it's probably just a setting in the registry that got
munged... but which setting?!?!?
