Help!!! everything in this windows xp user account is gone!!!!!

eh. so I got this windows xp computer and I shut it down last night and I
come back today and the Icon that shows next to the name is gone and now it
shows that chess one.. SO then I was like no biggie ill just fix it, then I
typed in the password and it just didnt do anything at all.... I could still
move the mouse and all but then it wouldnt log in.... So then I did a
fixboot, and a chkdsk, didnt fix anything. So then I restarted to computer
and did last good config and it let me log in now! dont get to excited all
the stuff on that account is gone! wallpaper, desktop items, start up menus,
shortcuts on the bottom of the computer, internet explorer favs, gone! oh
dear god all gone, I can confirm this is not a settings problem because I
went into the Documents and Settings file and went into the account and
everything was gone!!!!! OH DEAR GOD WHY ME!!, but then everything else on
the hard drive was still there.... so ah.... anyone know a way to fix? I also
tried System restore but all that did was bring back my skin. Still missing
start up menu items and desktop items

Hi,

Are there other accounts under Documents and Settings? Your old one may have
become corrupted, and you were logged onto a default (which would not have
all of your personal stuff). If this is the case, you will need to logon as
administrator and create a new account for yourself, then copy the old one
into it.
