My hard drive crashed last week so had to format and
reinstall all programs on new hard drive. Original and
recovery discs contained a trial Word Perfect Office,
which needed to be uninstalled to allow for installation
of the WP Office Upgrade I had purchased. This created
the situation generating Error 1919, when I tried to
install MS Office.
Since I had to do this when I first had this computer, I,
perhaps unwisely, thought I could follow the same
directions again to fix it. Using Knowledge Base Article
324520, I foolowed the instructions for OEM Editions of
Windows XP. Did step 1 (Modify the Registry Keys. Then
went to Step 2 (Install Mdac.Inf). Got a
message "c:\cwinnt\inf refers to a location that is
unavalable..." then some comments about its possible
location.
I'm not computer saavy and do not know where to go from
here. Do I need to find c:\winnt\inf somewhere using
search? Or, do I need to do something else? Then what do
i do?
Thanks much for your help.
