HELP - Domain controller unavailable

My 2000 server domain controller is unavailable for
logins, etc. In the event log, I'm getting an
error "NTDS Generail - Global Catalog Event ID 1126" -
basically can't find the global catalog.

Also, it appears as if the registry entries for the
Netlogon service are completely gone...

Anyone have any suggestions? I can login at the server
but have no other access - this particular event does not
seem to be covered in the KB.

Ensure that the Domain Controller is a GC and that is is
pointing to itself as the primary DNS server. This is the
Key to allowing the NETLOGON service to start in a timely
manner. Ensure that a pointer record for the DC is in the
Reverse Lookup zone. Ensure that the clients are pointing
to the DC for the Primary DNS server.
