NTSD Event 1126 after Security patch MS04-11 and Exchange upgrade

Hi,

This weekend I installed a lot of security patches on our Win 2000 GC/PDC.
Afterwards I upgraded our Exchange 2000 server to 2003.

Since these updates I get the Event 1126 from source "NTDS General" claiming
that the global catalog server cannot be contacted. However, this event
occurs ON the global catalog server itself.

I looked at the suggestions on eventid.net for this event, and tried some
solutions. I still have this issue, and I suspec the Security Update MS04-011
is to blaim, as discussed in Q841395.

In this Q there is only a reference to "other" domain controllers, not the
GC itself. 1 other Win 2000 DC does not signal this problem (patch not
installed) and our Win 2003 DC of our second domain in the same forest also
does not log the issue.

What other problem could cause this error?

This problem might have been cured. The Recipient Update Service of
Exchange had an incorrect server entry for the second domain...
