Help Combo box behaving in strange way

here is what my combo box is doing, when I go to new record, and try to
select from the combo box, nothing is populated in the field but it creates
the new record then I can go in again after the record is created and select
from the combo box and it populates the field no problem. any idea?
the combo is limited to list, column count = 1.

Never mind my question. I found out that there was a conditional formatting
that caused this issue. it worked fine as soon as I removed the conditional
formatting.
