HELP-Change out master photo on slide master but only on that slid

2007, I have a pptx template with 6 different slide master sets.
I have a photo of my own I want to change out on one of the master top slides.
How to do?
When I tried, nothing happened. (I noticed the preserve button was selected
by default, I guess.)

What did you try??

There is more than one way to add a picture to a master.

Is the picture selectable on the master? If not try Right click on the
background and Format Background
 
What John asked and said.

Plus, the "preserve master" button doesn't have anything to do with the
formatting. It just means the master will not be deleted if there are no
slides based on it.
