Help! Cannot download pictures from camera.

I have an older HP PhotoSmart camera which was working fine on my new
computer till just 4 days ago when all I get when I try and open my camera
file is this message.
Photo Impression 2000 has encountered a problem and needs to close. Wea are
sorry for the inconvenience. If you were in the middle of something the
information you were working on might be lost. Please tell Microsoft about
this problem. We have created an error report that you can send to us.
Which I do repeatedly.
I have uninstalled the program and reinstalled it and still have the same
message. What can I do to fix the problem.

You could try a system restore to before the problem started.
Start>All Programs>Accessories>System Tools>System Restore
You can go back up to 90 days.

Hi! I tried restoring my computer to an earlier time and my computer won't
even restore to an earlier time.
Nothing I seem to try is working right now.
