help and support wont launch

help and support wont launch when i click it.
Also the search companion doesnt show any options so cant be used
I tried to launch system restore but again it wont launch

i have windows xp home.
i have the firewall on, sp 2 installed and am now running ex antivirus.
I did have worms but everything is clear now.

See if these commands help, from Start, Run dialog:

regsvr32 jscript
helpctr -regserver
regsvr32 itss
regsvr32 hhctrl.ocx

Thanks guys but i have tried all of these and they didnt work.
I have had to do a repair install of xp.
This has cured the search problem. all options now appear.

however help and support will still not launch.

after reinstalling i repatched the machine so it has sp2 and all other
updates as well.

I am having the same problems found in this posting but no success in
clearing the trouble-I can get "help" to launch but keep getting script
errors..It is also difficult to read as the font is un-readable ..I also
cannot get to the windows update page to reload SP2-Auto updates stopped
working...
