help and support does not connect to internet after removal of new

hi all. heres another help and support question i hope someone can help with.

ok, my problems all began when i downloaded a program that had new.net, and
after much frustration of not being able to connect to the internet for 2 wks
after getting rid of it and then not even able to turn on my computer, i
repaired xp and lost quite a few programs and i even had to setup my
connection all over again. i was able to get most of my stuff back, now the
question: how can i get help and support to update after the system was
infected with this adware? it hasn't updated ever since and i have a dialup
connection. thank you

sorry, forgot to mention my system; Windows XP, SP2, and i just reinstalled
sp2 a few wks ago, but this happened after i uninstalled newdotnet last
month. i hope this helps. good luck guys.
