HELP! 16 bit Windows Subsystem Error

start run and type

%SYSTEMROOT%\repair

find "autoexec.nt", right click on this file and select copy then

start>run and type

%SYSTEMROOT%\system32

right click anywhere in the folder window (except on top of a folder) and
select paste

C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\AUTOEXEC.NT. The system file is not suitable for
running MS-DOS and Microsoft windows applications. Choose 'Close' to
terminate the application.

I keep getting this message when I try to access programs from my desktop.
In particular, my recipe software. I could get into it yesterday, however,
now it won't let me. I have Windows XP. Can anyone tell me if this can
be fixed and how?

Thanks! It worked!
