My Microsoft Word tab isn't with the rest of my Microsoft Office things when
I click the Start button. I am really bad with computes, so I searched for it
on the search tab. I could only open previously saved files on Microsoft, so
I decided to just delete one and type my paper in that saved file, but it
won't let me delete anything on the page, and it says 'The modification is
not allowed because the selection is locked'.
How do I unlock it?! And where did my Microsoft Word go???

Search for Winword.exe which is the Word program. You can make a shortcut by
right clicking and dragging it to the start menu or Desktop and selecting
"create shortcut" here. If you cannot find winword, you will have to
reinstall it with your Office disk.

Maybe you have a trial version of Office 2003 or 2007, and the trial
period has ended. Or maybe you have not activated your Office software.

What happens if you start Word 2003 and click on Help | Activate
Product, or if you start Word 2007 and click on Office Button | Word
Options | Resources | Activate? If you are already activated, a dialog
box saying so will appear. If you are not activated, the Activation
Wizard will start. If you have an expired trial version, a dialog box
will prompt you to enter a valid product key or convert (purchase a key)
online.
