heavy memory leak

i noticed that ie6 has very heavy memory leak, after
visit some web page, its memory usage increases fastly
from 12MB to 30 even 40 MB. One normal page can eat up 1 -
2MB.

Is this normal? Is there any way to release IE's memory
usage. Because after i use for a while (on winXP 256MB),
it will be out of memory.
