Hi, I need help figuring out how to put a header on just a set number of
pages, say I want one header for page 4 thru 166 then a different one from
page 170 to 200 etc, can anyone walk me through this? I would very much
appreciate it!

As a general rule, you will need a section break every time you want to
change the header or footer; you then unlink the headers/footers between
sections in order to change one or the other. There is one very useful
exception: if the change is only to reflect something in the document (a
chapter title, for instance), you can often use a StyleRef field instead;
see http://sbarnhill.mvps.org/WordFAQs/StyleRef.htm

That doesnt answer the question, Im not someone who knows the ins and outs,
why cant there be a way to make a header for a certain amount of pages, there
has to be a way, a much simpler way.

It *does* answer the question. Whenever you want to change the header, you
need to insert a section break. See
http://sbarnhill.mvps.org/WordFAQs/HeaderFooter.htm

In your case, you say you want "one header for page 4 thru 166 then a
different one from page 170 to 200." You don't say what you want on pages
1-3 or 167-169, but assuming you want four different headers, you'll insert
a section break (Next Page) between pages 3 and 4, 166 and 167, and 169 and
170. You then unlink the headers and put the desired content in the header
in each section.

If you can't be bothered to learn the 'ins and outs' even when shown the
way, it is no use blaming the program for your inability to use it properly.
:o)
