Headers and footers of different size

Hi

Please can you help me? I need to set up a letter template. I'm using
preprinted stationery. I need to leave 6cm at the top and 4cm at the bottom
of the first page, but there needs to be less space left on subsequent pages
(say 4cm and 2cm).

Thanks Suzanne, I have already tried this helpsheet but it just left me
confused. I may have to give it to someone else to do.

It is really not that difficult once you get your head around the concept
that Word will expand the header or footer to fit its content, pushing the
document content down or up accordingly. To make an artificially large
header or footer, you insert extra space, either as extra paragraphs, or as
an object (such as a shape), or (my preference) as Space After the header
paragraph or Space Before the footer paragraph.

When you do this only in the First Page Header/Footer, then the primary
Header/Footer is unaffected, and the page margin on subsequent pages is the
margin you have set; only on the first page have you created an artificially
large top/bottom margin.
