Header Appearance

After entering a header and clicking back into the body of the document, the
header appears less dark and somewhat faded. However, when going into print
preview, it appears with the right boldness.

Is it possible to have the header appear as it will be printed in the Print
Layout view mode?

No, Word always fades the headers and footers when the body of the document
is selected and vice versa. The only time you see everything as it'll print
is in Print Preview.

And not even then if you have graphics with certain wrapping settings, which
will be dimmed even in Print Preview.
