How do I set up Windows Live Mail to receive email from my free Hotmail
account? Is it possible? Thanks to anyone who can help.

Did you download and install the WLM beta? That would be the first step.
http://get.live.com/betas/maildesktop_betas

Then you can either click on the link in the lower left corner that says
"Add an e-mail account", or else go to Tools, Accounts, Add.

Hi Gary, thanks for replying. I have downloaded WLM and added the Hotmail
account in tools etc. I am now getting a message asking me to download the
neccessary files so WLM can read my messages; but when I try to download them
nothing happens! Any ideas? I am on a free Hotmail account by the way.

I am not at all familiar with a message asking to "download the
necessary files so WLM can read messages."
My WLM works fine without ever having seen that message.
Can you provide more details as to exactly what it is asking for?
