hdd not detected

i tried to install win xp x64 pro but at the biginig i receve the error NO
hard disk drive installed... i have maxtor 160gb sata hdd... maybe becouse
the hdd is sata that is why it doesn`t work.. please Help..

Either Microsoft or your SATA controller mfgr.

If you haven't done your homework regarding support for your hardware, you
shouldn't be attempting to install a brand-new OS...
