1. A computer that old may well have a BIOS incapable of dealing with a
drive that large. You can try finding a BIOS update for your motherboard
that would allow for a drive that large, or find a smaller drive and try it.
2. Determine the manufacturer and model of your motherboard, then ask your
question in a group devoted to that brand.

If I get a wrong update it will kill my board, isn't it?

Can i see what is the maximun size my bios can handle?

Unless you provide details, nobody can help you.
Determine the manufacturer and model of you motherboard and then post back.
I can then suggest an appropriate hardware group for you to post in.
This is a group devoted to AMD 64 bit processors.

You can get all the tools you need at the Hard Drive makers website(except
BIOS update).
BIOS updates aren't dangerous as long as you get the exact one for your
board.
They are usually easy to find and difficult to mix up.

I've got a maxtor 80Gb.

So if I download maxblast4.exe and burn it on cd and start-up with this
cd everyting is ok or should i do something else.
